This is just going to be a short little update on the recording session I had today with Tenor Horn player Laura Duffy...
Horns in general are a funny instrument to record and everyone will tell you the 'right way' to record them. Well I wasn't really looking for the right way, just the best sounding way to my ears. I ended up going for a 'close' mic'd Direct Hyper Cardioid Mic (a foot away I'd say - Not quite Beatle Esque) And a room mic added in for good measure.
Double the Track, pan it a little bit and add some reverb and you get something like this...

I had to eq the horn sounds a little bit so that they weren't fighting the bass guitar for space. But thats it!
